SOUTH AFRICA / CAPE TOWN
AFRO REGGAE
HIPHOP MC
Versatile and inspired, from Gugulethu, Cape Town’s « artistic cauldron », Crosby Bolani aka Digi Analog is one of the pioneers of the MC movement in South Africa. Born in the early 80s, Crosby grew up to the rhythm of Roots Reggae. As a teenager, Hip Hop culture flooded the world and Crosby found it a new window of expression. Both currents are the pillars of his unique style, a hybrid flow that he handles with virtuosity. His lyrics reflect the aspirations of a profoundly humanist artist, turned towards Universal Unity and imbued with the implacable reality of the townships. Singer and producer, Crosby is a key figure in Southern African Reggae, Dancehall and Hip Hop. Spotted by RedBull Music Academy SA, Crosby continued his rise to international stardom through numerous collaborations, including with Japanese electronic music master Dj Krush.
His debut album, A Better Place (Sept 2017) garnered attention and was nominated at Reggae.fr’s Victoires du Reggae and by Reggaeville for The Album of the Year 2017.
Crosby continues to work on projects and artistic encounters.
